Less is More When it Comes to Well Written Content

It's probably one of the greatest ironies you'll face in your web content creation efforts that might make you scratch your head at first, but will make more sense the longer you think it over.

Less = More

Confused? Don't be. Think about it. If there is any truth to the old adage that "less is more", then coming up with quality web content proves it. Remember, you are trying to attract the attention of a web surfer. They are not unintelligent people, but they are also not known for their great attention spans. That is not a judgement, it is just something that comes with the territory - if someone is web browsing, they are most likely looking for quick and precise information. If they don't find what they are looking for fast, they are gone. Avoid content overkill. Too much information in one place can overwhelm your audience and chase them away.

Packing a Verbal and Visual Punch

Learning how to create web content that lures visitors in and keeps them hooked is as much about the physical placement of words as it is about their artful composition. The layout of your page should be easy on the eyes, and should make use of strategic blank space. Pepper your pages with bite-sized paragraphs that offer useful information and move the reader along. Economize words. Use bullet points to simplify concepts. Never cram more than one idea into a paragraph.

Use Keywords Intelligently

One of the biggest mistakes you can make when setting about to create web content is to riddle your page with keywords. Even the untrained eye of a casual browser can tell the difference between keyword driven content and a bunch of clumsily assembled phrases meant to land a website in the top ten search results of any given search engine. Craft your content, and the hits will follow.
